Jonah 1:1“Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying…”
Jonah 3:1“And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah a second time, saying…” NKJV
I have to confess a few things.
I used to read Jonah’s story in Scripture and judge him.
I used to think why didn’t Jonah just do what he was told?
I used to be critical of Jonah’s going the opposite direction of God’s plan
and then sleeping through the storms that his disobedience had caused.

I used to judge Jonah. I used to be critical of Jonah. And then, I became Jonah.
A word of the LORD came to me in the form of nudging from Scriptures,
tugging at my heart from messages, encouraging words from others.
I felt the seed planted in my heart.
tugging at my heart from messages, encouraging words from others.
I felt the seed planted in my heart.
What did I do? Embrace the task? “Take the ball and run with it?”
Oh no, I got busy instead. I did everything but nourish that seed.
I poured myself into distractions, and like Jonah, I have had storms erupting all around me.

I confess now, to you, to God, and I repent. I am humbled and ready to be obedient to the LORD, to His Great Plan. I am thankful that the word of the LORD is willing to come to us a second time.
How about you? Are you too busy to listen and follow God's plan for you? Join me in prayer:
Father, I surrender to You, to Your plan for my life. Please guide me in Your Word and in Your Way. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
